When you sign up for our courses or interact with our platform, you share certain details with us:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password, and location (Wellington region)
- Profile Details: Baking experience level, dietary preferences, learning goals
- Payment Information: Credit card details (processed securely through our payment provider)
- Course Interactions: Completed lessons, quiz scores, recipe attempts, instructor feedback

Information Collected Automatically
Our platform automatically gathers technical data to improve your experience:
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, time spent on lessons, video watch progress
- Location Data: IP address and general geographic location
- Cookies: Session identifiers and preference settings
We never sell your personal information to third parties. Your data helps us create better courses and personalized learning experiences.
How We Use Your Data
Every piece of information serves a purpose in making your baking education better.
Service Delivery
We use your information to provide and improve our online courses. This includes managing your account, processing enrollments, delivering course materials, and enabling live sessions with instructors.
Personalization
Your learning progress and preferences help us recommend relevant courses and adjust difficulty levels. If you struggle with laminated doughs, we might suggest additional practice sessions or supplementary materials.
Communication
We send course updates, new recipe releases, and important announcements. You control which emails you receive through your account settings.
Platform Improvement
Usage patterns help us understand which teaching methods work best. If students repeatedly rewatch a particular technique demonstration, we know to create more detailed content on that topic.
Security and Fraud Prevention
We monitor for unusual account activity to protect both you and our instructor community from unauthorized access or payment fraud.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share your information only when necessary to operate our platform or when legally required.
Service Providers
Trusted third parties help us run Vluvial effectively:
- Payment Processors: Handle transactions securely (your card details never reach our servers)
- Video Hosting: Store and stream course content smoothly
- Email Services: Deliver course notifications and updates
- Analytics Tools: Help us understand platform usage and improve courses
Instructors
Your course instructors see relevant information to provide personalized feedback. They can view your submitted work, quiz results, and questions, but not your payment details or unrelated personal information.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by New Zealand law, court orders, or government regulations. This happens rarely and only to the extent legally necessary.
Business Transfers
If Vluvial merges with another company or sells assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We'll notify you beforehand and ensure continued privacy protection.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies to remember your preferences and keep you logged in. Here's what happens behind the scenes.

| Preferences | Remember your language and video quality settings | 1 year |

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect platform functionality, like staying logged in or tracking your lesson progress.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Technical Measures
Our platform uses encryption for data transmission, secure password hashing, and regular security audits. Payment information is processed through certified payment providers who meet strict security standards.
Access Controls
Only authorized staff members can access your personal information, and only when necessary for support or course administration. Instructors see only course-related data.
Your Responsibility
Choose a strong password and don't share your account credentials. Log out when using shared devices. If you notice suspicious activity, contact us immediately at help@tf-v11.com.

You control your personal information. Here's what you can do with your data.
Access and Portability
Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 30 days.
Correction
Update your profile information anytime through your account settings. For data you can't change yourself, email us and we'll make corrections within 10 business days.
Deletion
Request account deletion through your settings or by contacting support. We'll remove your data within 30 days, except for information we're legally required to retain (like payment records for tax purposes).
Opt-Out
Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message. You'll still receive essential course-related communications like enrollment confirmations and live session reminders.
Withdraw Consent
If we process your data based on consent (like personalized recommendations), you can withdraw it anytime. This won't affect the lawfulness of previous processing.
Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide services or meet legal obligations.
Active Accounts
While your account is active, we retain all course progress, submitted work, and communication history so you can reference past lessons and achievements.
Inactive Accounts
If you don't log in for 3 years, we'll send a reminder email. After 4 years of inactivity, we may delete your account and associated data, keeping only basic transaction records for legal compliance.
Deleted Accounts
After account deletion, we remove most personal information within 30 days. Some data persists longer for legitimate reasons: payment records (7 years for tax compliance), anonymized usage statistics, and backup copies (deleted within 90 days).
Children's Privacy
Vluvial courses are designed for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16 without parental consent.
If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information without consent, contact us at help@tf-v11.com. We'll promptly delete such information from our systems.
Teen bakers aged 13-15 can use our platform with verified parental permission. Parents can request access to their teen's account information or request deletion at any time.

We update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect new features, legal requirements, or business practices.
When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform for 30 days. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the policy was last modified.
Continuing to use Vluvial after policy changes means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.
